Archiving Your Blackboard Class

In order to keep a copy of your class for reference and to reuse class materials later, you need to archive your course.  This is a really simple process.  :-)

To archive your Blackboard course, do the following:

  1. Login to Blackboard.
  2. Access your course.
  3. Go to the Control Panel.
  4. On the very bottom of the page on the left-hand side, click on Archive Course.
  5. Click Submit.  Nothing will happen for a several moments, but you will notice that the browser is "thinking."
  6. After Blackboard has quit "thinking," you will receive a receipt.  At the top of the receipt is this sentence:  "Click here to download the exported course site."  Right-click on the link.  The following window will open:

  7. Click on "Save Target As..."  A File Download window and a Save As window will open.  Browse to locate the location on your computer to which you want to save your archive.  Feel free to rename it to something that makes sense to you.
  8. Click Save
  9. Click OK on the Blackboard Receipt page.

You are done!  Your class has now been archived.  This will enroll the selected student into your class.
